I wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude and the pleasure I have received since becoming a client of Charleston Cornea & Refractive Surgery. It has been about two months now and everything is still great! I can still see the alarm clock in the morning!

I would be remiss to not mention my experience that eventually led me to your practice. I have worn glasses or contacts since I was 16 (I'm now 32!) or half of my life. I always sort of accepted that and made do with glasses until I got tired of the inconvenience. I am very outgoing and active, while competitive amateur golf is my passion. Therefore contacts were much better than the glasses, however, there were still issues: wind and dust caused problems, falling asleep with them in is not good either and the expense every six months was $125!

I had heard about LASIK and PRK, etc for about six years but was apprehensive about someone “cutting” on my eyes. After meeting Lisa and Mary with CC&RS, I agreed to observe a procedure in the Mt. Pleasant office. Boy, it sure was quick and seemingly painless! I decided then and there I would do it. I have been extremely pleased since the surgery. I really can see the alarm clock, detail seems much better now and I even won the biggest golf tournament of my life, The South Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship, (two weeks after surgery!)

Early morning in Mozambique, two years ago. Below the jittering of the local aviary life, I can hear the distinct sounds of Bwana preparing coffee over the lingering coals of our encampment's fire. I couldn't find my contact lenses, and as I reached for my clothes I could just make out the faintest image of something moving there. I yelled “Bwana!” and my guide broke into the tent. Six steps is far from accurate, but as far as we had traveled into the remote bush country of Africa, the black mamba's poison would have proven lethal just the same. Because I could not find my contact lenses, the snake nearly killed me.
